Twisted Road increases driver safety with a 20-point inspection

Leading motorcycle rental company makes riding safer by highlighting motorcycles that have passed their inspection checklist

CHICAGO, August 16, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — twisted roadthe first motorcycle rental community, announced the launch of its 20 point inspection program, which adds a badge to motorcycles whose owners have completed its inspection checklist. This program allows riders to restrict their motorcycle selection to motorcycles that have undergone a recent inspection.

Twisted Road highlights bikes that have passed inspection in search results

“We continue to find ways to make peer-to-peer motorcycle rentals more enjoyable and safer,” said austin rothbard, founder and CEO of Twisted Road. “This program is simple. The motorcycle owner completes our inspection checklist and sends us a video showing each item passed. We reward owners in our community who provide great service by giving them greater visibility in our search results.”

After Twisted Road reviews the video, it adds a badge to that owner’s bike profile to highlight and identify recently inspected bikes.

“Because most of our rental motorcycles are privately owned, we had to find an innovative and scalable way to inspect the bikes to reduce problems on the road. By having the owner show us the tires virtually, the electrical system and other key areas, we can identify bicycles in good working order and encourage owners to regularly inspect and maintain their motorcycles. However, we also ask the rider and owner to examine the bicycle immediately before riding to check that it can be driven safely.

twisted road 20 point inspection program is the latest example of the platform’s notable offerings:

  • Twisted Road has over 3,000 private motorbikes for hire across United States

  • Motorcycle owners earn money by renting out their personal bikes when those bikes would otherwise be idle

  • Riders use Twisted Road when travelling, to try out different bikes, or to test before you buy

  • The rental platform offers a wide variety, with vintage bikes dating back to 1947 as well as innovative new models such as Harley-Davidson’s electric motorcycle, the LiveWire

  • The company offers damage and liability insurance up to $1 million during all rentals.

“Motorcycle safety is our first priority, and while we can never guarantee that a motorcycle is safe, we can provide more tools for our community when selecting the motorcycles they want to ride,” said Rothbard.
