As the rider wears a helmet, their ride could easily have taken a deadly turn.
It’s unclear how fast the cyclist is moving, but electric scooters are banned on Western Australia roads with a speed limit of more than 50 km/h. Electric bikes are also prohibited on the highway.
In WA, e-rideables are only allowed to ride on trails at speeds up to 10 km/h and up to 25 km/h on shared paths, bike paths and local roads without center lines .
The incident comes after an 86-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run while riding an e-bike on the motorway last month.
