Scooter driver killed in hit-and-run accident on Taji Drive [San Jose, CA]
Motorized scooter driver pronounced dead after collision on Lucretia Avenue
SAN JOSE, Calif. (April 1, 2022) – Early Saturday morning, a hit-and-run accident on Taji Drive killed a scooter driver, police said.
Police say the incident happened just before 2 a.m. in the area of Lucretia Avenue and Taji Drive.
Investigators say a northbound gray 2017 Honda sedan collided with a motorized scooter heading in the same direction on Lucretia Avenue.
After the impact, the Honda driver and the driver of a mid-size white SUV that hit the downed driver both fled.
Paramedics arrived and transported the critically injured victim to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Due to the extent of the injuries sustained, doctors pronounced the scooter driver dead shortly after arriving at hospital.
For the moment, the authorities have not yet released the names of those involved. San Jose officials are asking anyone with information about the hit-and-run to contact Detective Malvido at (408) 277-4654.
