Motorcyclist injured in moped crash on Decatur Boulevard [Las Vegas, NV]

A 52-year-old man hospitalized after a moped accident on Carmen Boulevard

LAS VEGAS, NV (March 16, 2022) – A moped accident on Decatur Boulevard claimed the life of a passenger on Thursday morning.

At approximately 7:58 a.m., the collision occurred at the intersection of Decatur and Carmen Boulevard.

Additionally, authorities said a moped heading south on Decatur sped into the marked bike lane. For unknown reasons, the moped ran a red light at the intersection.

As a result, the moped driver crashed into the right front of a Toyota Camry that allegedly initiated a left turn from Decatur to Carmen through stop-and-go traffic backed up from Washington Avenue.

Paramedics transported the moped, identified only as a 52-year-old man, to UMC in critical condition.

During this time, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and showed no signs of weakening. At this time, the collision is still under active investigation.
