Manila motorcycle accident kills one biker, injures another
MANILA, Philippines — A motorcyclist was killed while another was injured following a collision in Sampaloc, Manila over the weekend.
A report from the Manila Police District (MPD) said on Monday that a certain Michael Evangelista Ang was on a motorbike heading south along Santol Street in Barangay 856 when he rammed into motorcyclist Leonardo Mantica, which was heading north and turning left at Via Vallejos.
CCTV footage from Sunday’s incident showed Ang was driving fast when he hit Mantica, causing them both to hit the ground.
Ang was immediately killed due to the force of the impact, the MPD report notes.
Mantica, meanwhile, was injured and was rushed to UERM Memorial Medical Center for treatment. —Xander Dave Ceballos, INQUIRER.net Intern
