Injured delivery man grateful to passers-by who helped him after his bike skidded in Redhill

He said he passed out.

A delivery man lost consciousness after his electric-assisted bicycle skidded near a car park entrance near block 75A Redhill Road on September 16 just before 8 p.m.

He suffered a spinal cord injury in his neck as well as a knee injury and was hospitalized until September 22.

Trampler Rock said: “I was quite badly injured and I think I passed out for a short while. It was the passers-by who helped me move on the sidewalk and called the ambulance for me.

“I did not have the opportunity to thank the general public who helped me in this accident. Without their help, I think the consequences would have been very detrimental to my health.

“I think one of those who treated me was from the health sector. He checked and made sure I had no broken bones before moving down the sidewalk with the help of the others. .”

After the Stomper was discharged from Singapore General Hospital, he received 36 days of sick leave.

Peter said he could still move, but he had to be careful.

“Recently, I’ve observed that my spinal cord seems to be tense as it’s quite difficult to turn my head right and left,” he told Stomp.

Since the crash, the 50-year-old Grab rider has been unable to work and has no income.

“I will try to make do by trying to get loans from friends to help me out,” said Peter, who cares for a brother with dementia.

“It’s good that Grab has offered this Chubb insurance coverage to riders for free, but the claims process is very complicated.

“I just need to know the insurance claim process and how long would it take for the payment to be refunded to me.”
