Here is the BMW R1250 GS competition!

The GS Trophy returns for 2022, and that means we need a new bike that’s up to the task! To cope with the extreme conditions that this year’s riders will face, BMW has developed the R1250 GS Competition, a special edition machine that is pre-farkled for enduro.
Enduro on a full-size GS? Yes, BMW is not taking it easy with the competitors in this event, and even though they have used the 800 class twins in previous editions of the Trophy, they are back to using the big bore flat twins for this year’s event. . The organizers sayThis offers the stock, superior power, beefy torque and maximum traction for the sometimes very demanding off-road passages, which often require low-speed riding..”
It’s the same engine as the stock bike, of course, but this version of the machine comes with an aluminum engine guard, headlight guard, rocker covers, and “a TFT display that’s protected against damage from falling and falling rocks.” Um, were the organizers planning to run through rockslides?
There are adjustable levers, enduro-style footpegs, Metzeler Karoo 4 tires, a rally seat, Sport windscreen and an Akrapovic muffler. Of course, there is also a unique paint job. BMW also includes its 5-liter tank bag, allowing riders to bring their snacks and cell phones.
While we’re sure the bikes involved in this year’s event will sell out, no one has told us how to buy one. Perhaps they will be repainted and resold in Europe?
Action in Albania
BMW says this year’s GS Trophy will take riders to a lesser known, but worth a visit, ADV destination:
Steep mountains, wide valleys, wild rivers, dense forests and a fantastic coastline: BMW Motorrad will bring the International GS Trophy to Albania from September 4 to 10, 2022. The country, which is considered an insider tip for off-road tourism, is incredibly rich in flora, fauna and culture. The best enduro riders in the world can look forward to discovering this still unknown beauty on their GS motorcycles, in numerous special stages, and experience the #SpiritOfGS up close.
