Hellas Rally: Day 4 recap
The Hellas Rally is now halfway through, but for many competitors the fight has only just begun, as the riders have just completed the first day of the marathon stage. See the images below, along with the official recap from the rally organisers:
The motoring action continues on day 4 of the Hellas Rally Raid, probably the longest and hottest day for all participants who stood on the start line in Loutraki. Hundreds of screaming engines exploded in some of the most unique locations Greece has to offer, en route to Itea where the temporary bivouac was located. The Special of the day was 330 kilometers and all the participants had to try to do it with a minimum of damage because there would be no mechanical assistance for them in Itea…
The course was fast but there was a tricky section with a very tight and steep climb that was really challenging for all riders. On the fifth day, participants should return to the main Loutraki bivouac to complete the second part of the longest marathon stage in Europe.
ADVrider inmate Lyndon Poskitt, star of the YouTube series Races to Places, appears to be leading the way, according to the overall leaderboard found here, although he was not in the lead on day 4; that honor went to Ebster Tobias. Poskitt was second today, according to the table here. See his thoughts on the day’s race below:
Of course, the riders took a short break, as the day 3 stage was canceled for safety reasons. Now Day 5 looms, with the second half of the marathon stage ahead. Expect drama as a result.
