Hackensack, NJ – E-Bike Rider reviewed following crash at Essex St and Newman St

Hackensack, New Jersey (02 September 2022) – A 26-year-old man riding an e-bike suffered serious injuries in an overnight crash on Friday September 2 in Hackensack.

The cyclist and his 20-year-old passenger were traveling eastbound along Essex Street when he collided with an SUV traveling southbound on Newman Street at around 2.30am.

The driver of the SUV then fled.

The victims, two local men, were transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center. The cyclist’s injuries were classified as life-threatening.

The Hackensack Police Traffic Office is investigating the cause of the impact.
