Expedition driver accused of kidnapping child in Lagos has been exonerated, as baby’s mother speaks

The mother of the child who was allegedly kidnapped by a dispatch rider in Lagos State last weekend has confirmed that the embattled man is her child’s uncle.
On Saturday March 12, Ripples Nigeria reported that the Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that it will investigate the situation surrounding the alleged abduction of a baby from the Sangotedo area of Lagos, by the courier.
A social media video showed the biker being harassed by a mob after he was nearly lynched amid accusations he hid the baby in his baby carrier.
But the child’s mother has revealed the dispatch rider is innocent and should be forgiven for causing panic.

She said he was not a kidnapper as claimed in a video shared by locals who saw him with the child and assumed the worst.
“I gave her the baby on my own because I trust her. He’s the baby’s uncle,” the child’s mother said.
