Child almost hit by ‘reckless’ cyclist in Southampton Park

A PHOTOGRAPH has been released after a child was nearly hit by a bicycle passing through a park in Southampton.

Police spotted the biker as he moved ‘recklessly’ along the grass in Mansel Park, Millbrook.

Officers were then informed that the motorcyclist had nearly collided with a child playing in the park.

But despite a photo of the biker, police were unable to arrest the individual as after seeing officers they fled the scene.

The vehicle is an off-road jammer, white and blue. The rider was dressed in black.

In a post on the Southampton Cops Facebook page, police said: “The parks are for children, families and dog walking. Motorbikes are not welcome in the parks.
