CAVC Rider – a new free bus service for Cardiff and Vale College students and staff – FE News

5e September Cardiff Bus will launch CAVC Rider – a new bus service for Cardiff and Vale Collegeand staff.

Free for College students and staff, the bus service will run between CAVC sites Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Cardiff Bus will provide a bus and staff for the pilot service, which will be reviewed quarterly.

Students and staff can board the bus at the city center campus and travel to the college’s international sports campus or home of sport in Leckwith by 9.00am, with services running between venues throughout the day until 6 p.m.

There will also be services to the Barry Campus and the CAVC International Center for Aerospace Training (ICAT) at Cardiff Airport. An additional bus service will connect Barry Station to the Barry Campus on Colcot Road.

The service will improve access to the Barry Campus and ICAT, and allow students on all campuses to have increased access to the College’s athletic academies. It will also allow for closer collaboration between students and courses across campuses.

Sharon James, Principal of Cardiff and Vale College, said: “We are extremely grateful to Cardiff Bus for providing us with CAVC Rider. This will greatly improve access to all of our campuses for all of our students, providing them with additional opportunities and the ability to save on fuel costs and help the environment.
