Scout Rider: The Broncs lost both games at home last weekend and are now beginning a road trip with three games in six days. Rider should have beaten Quinnipiac when the teams met last Friday, but the Bobcats closed regulation on a 14-6 run to force overtime, then took control in the final 1:30 of the overtime session. … Senior graduate Dimencio Vaughn is 18 rebounds away from becoming the only player in program history to rank in the top 15 in points, rebounds, steals and blocks. He set the all-time steal record when he recorded five against Saint Peter’s on Sunday to pass Ryan Thompson and former teammate Stevie Jordan. … Rider has only shot better than 50% once this season and that came in his only MAAC win over Marist.
Quinnipiac Recognition: The Bobcats trailed for more than 33 minutes in the first meeting with Rider before pulling the game with a clutch shot late in the game. They were 4 for 20 from beyond the arc in the first half of that game, but started heading for the basket in the second half and overtime. … Matt Balanc comes off the bench to score a team-high 15.1 points and had 17 in the first meeting against Rider. … Dezi Jones and Kevin Marfo are next with 9.5 points per game each.
