Brixton: Electric scooter rider dies after crash on Ferndale Road
An electric scooter driver has died after an accident with a car in Brixton.
Police were called to Ferndale Road, near the junction with Nursery Road, around 6pm on Saturday after the crash.
Paramedics were also called to the scene and a 53-year-old man was taken to hospital.
He died in hospital around 8 p.m.
Police are currently working to identify the motorcyclist and notify his family.
The car involved in the accident stopped at the scene and no arrests were made.
Officers are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident and are asking witnesses to come forward.
Anyone with dash cam or cell phone recordings of the accident is also asked to contact police quoting reference number CAD5652/3Sep.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: ‘Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a man died following a collision in Brixton.
“Officers were called at around 6.05pm on Saturday 3rd September to report a collision involving a car and an electric scooter in Ferndale Road near the junction with Nursery Road, SW9.
“London Ambulance Service were present and the scooter driver – a 53-year-old man – was taken to hospital. He died there at 8 p.m.
“Work continues to identify and inform relatives.
“The car involved stopped at the scene.
“There have been no arrests and investigations into the circumstances are continuing.
