Biker killed in Quezon road accident
LUCENA CITY – A motorcyclist died in a traffic accident in the city of Lucban, in the province of Quezon, on Monday, January 24, a report announced on Tuesday.
Lucban Police reported that Edwin Oriasel, 42, was driving a motorbike driven by Melchor Pertes, 47, when the vehicle hit a stray dog along the diversion road in Barangay (village) Malupak around 3pm.
Losses lost control of the motorcycle and Oriasel was ejected, landed on the pavement and suffered serious head injuries.
Oriasel was taken to MMG Lucban Hospital in the city center but died en route. The report did not say whether or not the victim was wearing a protective helmet.
Police said Pertes, who suffered only bruises, left the crash site and until the time of the display remained at large.
The report says the victim’s relatives have not yet filed a complaint against Losses and remain open to an amicable settlement of the incident outside of court.
