Subject: [New York ALR] Membership

Hi,
 
I am interested in joining ALR and since there isn't a local chapter I sent  
my membership information and check to American Legion Post 259 Oneonta, NY to 
 join the NY Chapter.
 
That was 7/18, the check has not cleared.  Did I do the right  thing?
