American Legion Riders

The Oregon Chapter of the American Legion Riders was formed in October of 2001. The first meeting was held at the American Legion Department of Oregon State convention at Grants Pass, OR in June of 2002. It was at this meeting that the first slate of officers for the Oregon Chapter were elected. It was also voted on at this meeting that our dues would be $10.00 per year and that the membership year would run from July 1st to June 30th. This coincides with the State convention, at which we will hold our annual meetings and elect new officers.

Our objective is to support the aims and purposes of the American Legion, through service to our community, state and nation.

“WE ARE NOT A MOTORCYCLE CLUB”

Bob Root, former President of the Oregon Chapter of the ALR would like to recognize the efforts of Gary “Trooper” Harris in bringing this Chapter into existence: “My hat is off to Gary for going above and beyond in his efforts for this Chapter. I would be remiss if I did not include his wife Lee. It is because of their hard work that we are here today.”
