21 February 2004 was the date; the ALR 10th Anniversary Party was the gig. 160 tickets were sold, making the event a sell-out!
ALR Chapters from Indiana, Illinois, Iowa (Hey! What's with all the "I" states?), and Michigan were represented.
A great buffet dinner was enjoyed, following an invocation by the Right Reverend Crazy Bob. After dinner, there was a brief presentation of the ALR history by Bill Kaledas. Finally, Special Class Lifetime Memberships were presented to those members of Post 396 having earned the honor: Don Blasky, Bill "Spanky" Borrusch, Sue "S.O.B." Borrusch, Mike "Ponytail" Globke, Pam "Lips" Globke, Bill "Polka Bill" Kaledas, Greg "Grinner" Price, Juanita Price, "Animal" Reynolds, Judy "Stormy" Reynolds, Al "Porky" Spiteri, and Donna Spiteri. Congratulations all!
Then, the party continued with friendship, revelry, and DJ-induced dancing until they threw us all out. Pictures of the gala event are available for viewing on the NALRIC website; some in here, too.
A special note of thanks to the Committee who worked so hard to put this together! I have had more than one member stop by to tell me that this was the best ALR bash yet! Great job!
